Dining at a Distance 

Dining at a Distance is a new, free online service that many customers are using to find and try new eateries that remain open. Restaurants can register their information, how customers can order, and delivery options. Customers can view locations on a map and filter restaurants by food type and other information. 


CA Governor’s Office of Emergency Services | Great Plates Delivered Program

On April 24, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom announced the launch of a first-in-the-nation “Great Plates Delivered” program, a meal delivery service for California’s older adults. 

Great Plates Delivered has two purposes: (1) Help seniors and other adults at high risk from COVID-19 to stay home and stay healthy by delivering three nutritious meals a day, and (2) Provide essential economic stimulus to local businesses struggling to stay afloat during the COVID-19 crisis.

Information from the Governor's Office with regards to guidelines for the Local Administration of the Great Plates Delivered Program at the County/City Government level including contracting with local restaurants and delivery service providers (must meet FEMA procurement guidelines).

Together, the City of San Jose, County of Santa Clara, School Districts, community-based organizations (CBOs), and the private sector are executing and iterating on a plan of action to meet the nutritional needs of at-risk populations during the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery period. 

TheGreat Plates Deliveredprogram in Santa Clara County is being managed through partnerships with Sourcewise and World Central Kitchens (WCK).  Sourcewise will perform the intake to qualify eligible participants, plan meals, and formulate and enter orders and WCK will provide restaurant activation, management, order management, and delivery coordination.
