Future of The Alameda

The Alameda Business Association and the Shasta/Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association will be holding a community meeting on May 23rd to kick-off a dialog regarding the future of The Alameda. In the coming months local business owners and residents will be working together with the goal of transforming The Alameda into a vibrant business district that leverages the history of the neighborhood. With dialog, forethought and planning we aim create a business zone that is not only compatible with residents, but becomes a place where families want spend time and shop. Join us!

We will hear a little about our history, the vision of the Grand Boulevard Task Force (a group with the goal of revitalizing the state’s HWY82), the findings of our own walkability study and opportunities for funding planning activities. Also, The Castle Group has agreed to take neighborhood input on the architecture of their new project being built on Stockton Avenue at Cinnabar. In and of itself, this is a rare opportunity to participate in the future of the area.

If you love the character of the neighborhood and you’re interested in making a contribution toward its future, plan to attend this meeting!
